Device
The HIV 1/2 Rapid Test Device (Whole blood/Serum/Plasma) is a rapid
chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of
antibodies to HIV 1 and/or HIV 2 in whole blood, serum or plasma
specimens.
Sensitivity
The HIV Rapid Test Device (Whole blood/Serum/Plasma) has been
compared with a leading commercial EIA HIV test on clinical
specimens. The results show that the HIV Rapid Test Device (Whole
blood/Serum/Plasma) is very sensitive to HIV 1 and/or HIV 2
antibodies.
Specificity
The specificity of the test is comparable to a leading commercial
HIV EIA test. The HIV 12 Rapid Test Device (Whole
blood/Serum/Plasma) is highly specific for anti-HIV 1 and/or HIV
2.com-pared to a leading commercial HIV EIA test

Test:
- Allow the test device, specimen, and buffer to equilibrate to
room temperature (15-30℃) prior to testing.
- Remove the test device from the foil pouch and use it as soon as
possible. Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed
within one hour.
- Place the test device on a clean and level surface. Hold the
dropper vertically and transfer 2 drops of specimen (approximately
50μL) to the specimen well (S) of the test device, then add 1 drop
of buffer (approximately 40μL) and start the timer.
- Wait foe the colored line(s) to appear. The result should be read
at 10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 20 minutes.
Positive: Two colored bands appear on the membrane.
Negative: Only one colored band appears, in the control region (C).
Invalid: Control band fails to appear.
Note:
1.The intensity of color in the test region(T) may vary depending
on the concentration of analytes present in the specimen.
Therefore, any shade of color in the test region should be
considered positive. Note that this is a qualitative test only, and
cannot determine the concentration of analytes in the specimen.
2.Insufficient specimen volume, incorrect operating procedure or
expired tests are the most likely reasons for control band failure.
